Kepler

Mixed Breed · Male

Kepler is a small, compact, and exceptionally charming dog who has undoubtedly been wasting away in the animal shelter for far too long. His greatest asset is his excellent relationship with humans, making him one of the most loved dogs by the volunteers. He also joyfully dances with excitement at the prospect of a walk and often relishes the opportunity to break free from his closed kennel for just a moment. Unfortunately, his stay in the animal shelter has a very negative impact on him, so we urgently need to find him a home where he will be surrounded by caring attention. Today's positive spotlight on Kepler is the result of months of consistent volunteer work. Initially, he struggled to adapt to the shelter reality, fearing humans and not wanting to leave his kennel. He was taken in from a previous "home" due to poor living conditions. It was here that he realized that contact with humans and walks on a leash can be a great joy. The once frightened Kepler is now a distant memory and a myth! Now he is a lively dog who wants to enjoy a dog's life by the side of good people. Potential caregivers must keep in mind that it would be beneficial to work on maintaining Kepler and providing him with basic training. His great love for humans is evident in his tendency to jump on them due to overexcitement. Additionally, Kepler definitely needs thoughtful socialization with other dogs. His relationships with other shelter dogs can be varied; sometimes he reacts negatively. He usually finds his place well in the company of females and can walk alongside different males without seeking conflict. Kepler would prefer a home where he would be the only dog, but an option for living with a calm female dog is on the table, provided there is a thorough introduction. Kepler definitely deserves a chance. His minor behavioral issues will undoubtedly be resolved relatively quickly in a home environment. We very much hope that he will soon fall into the hands of responsible people who will always be good to him!

About Kepler

What life with Kepler looks like

Kepler is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kepler, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kepler?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kepler on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kepler if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kepler already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kepler isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kepler and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
