Adopt Kiara *RESERVIERT*

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Your sister has already moved out 🐾 Kiara is a sweet, younger, medium-sized female dog who came to us with her sister. Her sister has already moved out – now Kiara is waiting for her people. She is basically very compatible and lives permanently in a dog group with us. There she shows herself to be absolutely social, oriented, and harmonious in dealing with the other dogs. In her first contact with unfamiliar dogs, however, she sometimes reacts forward. This is not a "real charge," but rather insecurity, which she temporarily resolves with activity. Once this situation is handled calmly, clearly, and sovereignly, it disappears very quickly. After that, she is approachable and easily integrable. Kiara is still young and has to learn many things in everyday life – being alone, mastering new situations, gaining security. At first, she is a bit reserved, but she warms up quickly when given structure and orientation. She is by nature friendly, balanced, and very easy to train. For Kiara, we wish for people who do not get scared when a young dog tests in the first contact but who can lead calmly and give her security. Then you get a very pleasant, social, and fine female dog by your side. She brings everything with her – you just have to further develop it. STECKBRIEF Kiara has been in the animal shelter since 21.12.25. Age: 01.01.2025. Breed: mixed breed. Gender: female, neutered. Origin: Portugal. Surrender reason: animal welfare. Testing required with cats and small animals. Unknown if suitable with children. Second dog?

About Kiara *RESERVIERT*

What life with Kiara *RESERVIERT* looks like

Kiara *RESERVIERT* is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kiara *RESERVIERT*, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kiara *RESERVIERT*?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kiara *RESERVIERT* on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kiara *RESERVIERT* if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kiara *RESERVIERT* already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kiara *RESERVIERT* isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kiara *RESERVIERT* and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
