KIARA

Mixed Breed · Female

Kiara is one of those dogs who never looks back. And she has plenty of reasons to. She arrived with Yacko and Sailar, and between them there is something very beautiful: they seek each other out, sleep close by, and keep each other company. When they are together, it's clear that they give each other calm, as if saying "calm down, we're fine now." They came from a life with little attention, and maybe that's why now they live everything so intensely. Go out with Kiara and she's already happy. She doesn't ask for anything special, just to be there. She walks with enthusiasm, looks at things, gets excited when there's movement... she has that dog energy that hasn't lost the will to do things, even though the years say otherwise. She is compatible with children, although she's not very refined when playing 😅 she gets excited, moves a lot, and sometimes forgets her size. But she does everything with good intentions, without bad will, just because she's having a good time. With other dogs she is very comfortable, it's clear that having them nearby gives her security. And with people... she is affectionate without complications. She approaches, allows herself to be touched, and if you get within her reach, you're sure to get kisses. When she arrived, she had a very large tumor on her side. She has been operated on and recovered, and she acts as if nothing happened. Not complaining, not closing in. On the contrary, she continues with the desire to go out, to move, to discover the world. Kiara doesn't need big things. She needs a home where she can be exactly as she is: active, affectionate, a little "dirty" when playing and very grateful for any shared moment. She is one of those dogs who might not catch your attention in a photo... but when you spend some time with her, you start looking at her differently. Share her, please. Maybe the person who is meant to change her life is among your contacts.

No demana res especial, només ser-hi. Comparteix-la, si us plau. 🏡🐾 QUINS PASSOS HAS DE SEGUIR PER ADOPTAR-ME? About KIARA

What life with KIARA looks like

KIARA is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at APAN — Protectora d in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting KIARA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KIARA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAN — Protectora d handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KIARA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KIARA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAN — Protectora d will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is KIARA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KIARA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAN — Protectora d early rather than rehoming privately; they know KIARA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CA). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
