Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 2 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Kilani has found her home! Her story: Kilani is a ca. 2 month old female puppy, who immediately wins every heart with her playful and affectionate nature. She was found on the street with her sibling. While her sibling sadly passed away from an illness, Kilani has survived and shows us every day how much joy she has in her life. With a shoulder height of currently 20 cm, Kilani is expected to be of medium size. She is a friendly and lively female dog who loves to be close to her people. Wherever you go, she will follow, always searching for closeness and cuddles. She also shows excellent behavior with other dogs – she is friendly and respectful even towards larger or older dogs. Her compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. As a puppy, Kilani is still unfamiliar with life in a family and still needs to learn the entire dog ABC. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone are all new to her, and puberty is approaching in a few months. In this phase, she will likely test boundaries and may require a bit more patience from her people. With loving upbringing and perhaps the help of a positively trained dog class, Kilani will quickly understand what is expected of her. For Kilani, we are looking for a home that offers her security, love, and the opportunity to grow up in peace. People who enjoy showing a young dog the world will find in Kilani a loyal companion who will brighten their day with her smile. Kilani travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport and can be transported after a positive health check. Do you want to give Kilani the chance at a loving home? A big thank you goes to Tamara, who gave Kilani the opportunity to start anew with her name! As of: 14.01.

Stand: 14.01.2025

About Kilani

What life with Kilani looks like

Kilani is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kilani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kilani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kilani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kilani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kilani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kilani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kilani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
