Kimi

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten

Kimi was rescued with his mother Bella and the rest of the litter after their previous owner was hospitalized. He is a friendly, social, affectionate, and playful kitten. All our kittens are placed dewormed, identified, vaccinated (1 or 2 vaccines depending on the time of placement), and mandatorily spayed or neutered at 6 months without additional participation required (if spaying or neutering is done at a partner veterinarian). We are looking for families living as close as possible to Pau. In an apartment (if access to the outside is high, the outside access must be secured) or in a house far from a dangerous road. The participation in rescue costs is €170 (€200 if a vaccination recall is performed). To help them grow together, double adoption, the association makes an additional effort on the amount of participation requested, €260 for a double adoption (€300 if recalls are performed). Possibility of adoption with his sister Lily. To offer them a family, please contact us by email (do not go through Réservez le).

About Kimi

What life with Kimi looks like

Kimi is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at ADAP (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) in Pau.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kimi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kimi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ADAP (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kimi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kimi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ADAP (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kimi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kimi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ADAP (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kimi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
