Kimon (approx. 40cm - growing) In order for your completed interest form to be transmitted to us, the cookies on our homepage must be accepted. Otherwise, we will not receive your self-disclosure. Kimon and his 3 siblings were found one morning on the driveway to the animal shelter in Greece. We strongly suspect that they were intentionally abandoned there the night before. None of them were microchipped or neutered. Unfortunately, we cannot say where the 4 originally came from or what they experienced before. Kimon is currently the largest and strongest of the four and with his beautiful white-brown patterned fur, he draws all the attention. But he is not only visually a real treasure: Kimon is a very people-oriented, friendly and open-minded dog. He approaches new people without fear and enjoys every attention. Typical for a young dog, he is full of energy, joie de vivre and curiosity. Kimon loves to run, play and be active in the open air. At the same time, he enjoys every caress and seeks the closeness of his people. However, he is still very turbulent due to lack of education. For Kimon, we are looking for an active family that enjoys showing a young dog the good sides of life, lovingly promoting him and experiencing many adventures together. Kimon needs physical and mental stimulation and is not for the big city or people with little time. With a dog like Kimon, you really have to be in the mood for an active dog with whom you like to work and share your life. He is not a dog who just "runs by". Of course, Kimon is still in the middle of his development. Character, preferences and temperament may change in the coming months. The impression we currently have of him is therefore only a snapshot. How Kimon develops further depends largely on his experiences, his upbringing and his future home. The parent animals are unknown to us. Based on the current stature, we make an unverbindable assumption that Kimon could grow up to 50 cm. However, this is only an estimate and not a guarantee. Kimon has not been able to experience much in his short life so far and he probably has not lived in a household with people yet. The complete dog 1x1 is still ahead of him. Especially house training, being alone and leash training are not learned overnight. With loving consistency, patience and positive motivation, however, the clever fellow will gradually develop into a loyal and reliable companion on four paws. Children living in the household should not be younger than 6 years old. A compatibility with cats cannot be tested. We will be happy to send videos on request. You can get a first impression here: Kimon travels neutered, vaccinated, with identification chip and EU pet passport. From the age of 1, all dogs are also tested for travel diseases. If you live in a rented apartment, you must provide a written confirmation from the landlord that the keeping of a dog is really permitted. This important point should be clarified BEFORE the placement request. A written confirmation from the landlord on dog keeping is a binding requirement to be in a

About Kimon

What life with Kimon looks like

Kimon is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Paradies für Tiere e.V. in Reutlingen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kimon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kimon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Paradies für Tiere e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kimon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kimon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Paradies für Tiere e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kimon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kimon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Paradies für Tiere e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kimon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
