kimono

Male · Senior · 13 years

Papy kimono arrived from the pound very thin and dehydrated, indicating that he had lacked care and attention. Always alert, he observes his environment with curiosity and does not hesitate to come seek human contact. He is a particularly affectionate companion who readily asks for pets and appreciates the reassuring presence of humans. Papy kimono is also very fond of food, which is both endearing and encouraging for his recovery. Behind his still fragile appearance, however, is a cat full of energy, lovable, and deeply in need of love, ready to give much affection to those who will give him a second chance. Like many older cats, kimono suffers from hyperthyroidism and has a lifelong treatment. It costs 43 euros per month and a check-up every six months through blood tests to monitor the progression. He takes his medication well.

FR·Show original

Appartement possible

About kimono

What life with kimono looks like

kimono is a senior cat waiting at SPA Inzinzac-Lochrist in Inzinzac.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting kimono, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about kimono?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Inzinzac-Lochrist handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw kimono on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt kimono if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Inzinzac-Lochrist will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is kimono already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if kimono isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Inzinzac-Lochrist early rather than rehoming privately; they know kimono and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
