Kira

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 1 month

Blind Kira won life, fighting bravely like a regiment of cavalry. It’s funny to compare a kitten to heavily armed soldiers. But why not, when it comes to fighting for life? For her, it was a huge effort. She arrived at our foundation, Ja Pacze Sercem, barely alive, a tiny, weak kitten suffering from a cat flu. Found alone on the property – without a mother or siblings. Her chances of survival were as slim as her size. But our volunteers aren’t the kind to give up before the fight begins. Kirunia spent her first days in the veterinary clinic’s hospital. The illness gave up a bit of ground, so the little one was placed under careful care in our temporary home. After a few weeks of struggle, she fully recovered. However, the fight left scars on her eyes – symblepharon – through which she is blind. Despite this, or perhaps because of the tough journey, Kira is a very friendly and calm kitty, though she’s not very bold at first contact. She gets along with the other residents of the foundation, is completely non-confrontational. She loves playing with both people and other cats. She’s calm, doesn’t destroy anything. She adores the warm radiator and a spot on the bed. She’s still small in size but it doesn’t bother her when she wins cat food from opponents twice her weight. She encourages older companions to play, though she’s not very pushy about it. Kira was born in June 2025. She is vaccinated, neutered, has a chip, and her FIV/FELV tests are negative. She is looking for a home with secure windows and a balcony, without the possibility of going outside. Give Kir a peaceful home* and love, so that nothing ever threatens her again. *Our love for blind kitties knows no bounds, so we conduct adoptions in Poland and beyond our country.

Niedowidząca Kira wygrała życie, bo walczyła dzielnie niczym pułk kirasjerów To zabawne porównywać kociaka do ciężkozbrojnych. ☎️ 500 383 928 📧

About Kira

What life with Kira looks like

Kira is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
