Kiran

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 4 years

Shoulder height: approx. 50 cm. Kiran is a dog with a heart of gold and simply radiates love at his foster home! He loves cuddling and wants his humans all to himself in his new home! He gets along well with other dogs, but he craves his humans’ full attention—how could anyone blame him after everything he’s been through in his life so far? Of course, he still has a lot to learn by his humans’ side. Kiran is an absolutely wonderful guy who truly deserves to finally find a loving home. A garden would certainly be something he’d love, as he enjoys spending time outdoors. Who will give this amazing dog their heart and stand by him through thick and thin? (Mon-Fri from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) KIRAN – HOW OFTEN CAN A HEART BREAK BEFORE IT STOPPES HOPING? Some stories just won’t let you go... For over a year, this wonderful dog has been waiting in the shelter—day after day, week after week—with the same look in his eyes: “When will it finally be my turn...?” He and his brother were rescued from euthanasia. Suddenly, there was hope. Out of the darkness. A brief moment of freedom... For KIRAN, it was briefly the start of a new life. But after just a few hours, it was all over again... The people who had taken him in brought him back, because nobody on the market seemed particularly interested in him. Back behind bars. Back into loneliness. Back into hell... Since that day, KIRAN carries this sadness in his eyes... “Why wasn’t I good enough?” Despite everything, he’s managed to keep his love alive—and he shows it anew every single day. KIRAN is not a dog who has given up. He walks nicely on a leash, loves people, is friendly, open, gentle, and gets along well with other dogs. He trusts—even though people have disappointed him. He’s not waiting for pity. He’s waiting for HIS person—a person who won’t just stay for a moment, someone who’ll never leave him again, someone who’ll show him that home isn’t just a dream. His brother has long since found his family... leaving KIRAN alone for a whole year now. And now, from the bottom of our hearts, we wish that KIRAN finally gets noticed and finds his forever home. Because somewhere out there, there must be that one special person who’ll say: “KIRAN... from today onward, you’re mine. Forever.” display: none !important; .lSSlideOuter .lSPager.lSGallery

Schulterhöhe: ca. 50 cm KIRAN – eine Seele von Hund sucht endlich sein Zuhause ❤️🐾 Kiran ist eine Seele von Hund und zeigt sich in seiner Pflegestelle einfach nur lieb. Er liebt es zu schmusen und möchte seinen Menschen einfach nur gefallen. Kiran wird ausschließlich zu einem bereits vorhandenen Ersthund vermittelt. Es rufen immer wieder Menschen an, die ihn alleine halten möchten – davon bitten wir abzusehen. Kiran braucht einen souveränen Hund an seiner Seite da er in seinem bisherigen Leben viel mitmachen musste. Ein sicherer Hundekumpel könnte ihm bestimmt bei dem ein oder anderen noch mehr Sicherheit geben. Wer kann ihm das verdenken, nach allem, was er in seinem bisherigen Leben erleben musste? 😰 Natürlich möchte Kiran auch noch einiges an der Seite seiner Menschen lernen. Er braucht Menschen, die ihm die nötige Zeit geben, um das ein oder andere noch zu lernen, und die ihn in seinem eigenen Tempo ankommen lassen. Kiran ist ein absolut toller Kerl, der es verdient hat, endlich ein liebevolles, ländliches Zuhause zu finden. Ein vorhandener Garten ist für ihn erforderlich, denn er liegt sehr gerne draußen. Wer schenkt diesem wirklich tollen und liebevollen Hund sein Herz und geht mit ihm durch dick und dünn? ❤️ Manche Geschichten lassen einen einfach nicht mehr los… KIRANS Geschichte gehört definitiv dazu. Seit über einem Jahr wartet dieser wundervolle Hund im Shelter. Tag für Tag. Woche für Woche. Immer mit demselben Blick: „Wann bin ich endlich dran…?“ Kiran und sein Bruder wurden aus der Tötung gerettet. Plötzlich gab es Hoffnung. Raus aus dem Dunkeln. Ein kurzer Moment Freiheit… Für Kiran war es für kurze Zeit der Beginn eines neuen Lebens. Doch nach nur wenigen Stunden war alles vorbei… 😰 Die Menschen, die ihn gerettet hatten, brachten ihn wieder zurück, weil sich auf dem Markt niemand großartig für ihn interessierte. 😡 Zurück hinter Gitter. Zurück in die Einsamkeit. Seit diesem Tag trägt Kiran diese Traurigkeit in seinen Augen. „Warum war ich nicht gut genug?“ Trotz allem hat er sich seine Liebe bewahrt. Das zeigt er jeden Tag aufs Neue. Kiran ist kein Hund, der aufgegeben hat. Er läuft an der Leine, liebt Menschen, ist freundlich, offen, sanft und verträglich mit anderen Hunden. Er vertraut – obwohl Menschen ihn enttäuscht haben. Er wartet nicht auf Mitleid. Er wartet auf SEINEN Menschen . Jemanden, der nicht nur für einen Moment bleibt. Jemanden, der ihn nie wieder zurücklässt. Jemanden, der ihm zeigt, dass Zuhause kein Traum bleiben muss. Sein Bruder hat seine Familie längst gefunden. Nur Kiran blieb zurück und wartet nun schon seit einem ganzen Jahr allein. Und jetzt wünschen wir uns aus tiefstem Herzen, dass endlich auch Kiran gesehen wird und sein Zuhause findet. Denn irgendwo da draußen muss es doch diesen einen Menschen geben, der sagt: „Kiran… ab heute gehörst du zu mir. Für immer.“ ❤️🐾 ( Mo-Fr von 11-18 Uhr ) display: none !important; .lSSlideOuter .lSPager.lSGallery {

About Kiran

What life with Kiran looks like

Kiran is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Porz in Köln.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kiran, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kiran?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Porz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kiran on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kiran if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Porz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kiran already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kiran isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Porz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kiran and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
