Adopt Kisherceg

Labrador Retriever · Male · Young · 3 years

The 17th District Police requested our immediate assistance regarding a starving puppy. Based on the report, they took action, and the sight of the young dog immediately confirmed the possibility of animal abuse. The owner, according to his own admission, did not provide for it, it had no food, its nails were brutally overgrown, and there was no doubt about the dangerous treatment and neglect. The photos do not truly show how thin this unfortunate animal is. Kisherceg was born around October 2022, a Labrador mix, a sweet dog. Currently, we are carefully feeding him in small portions at the Noé Animal Shelter's convalescent section. He has also undergone a complete veterinary examination. Meanwhile, the police have formally initiated an investigation for animal abuse, and we will attach the veterinary documentation to it. Kisherceg is a young, energetic little bundle of joy who requires a confident and decisive owner during walks, as he easily becomes overexcited in the presence of other dogs and tends to forget his good manners. However, in a calm environment, he is attentive and smart: he knows the basic commands (sit, lie down), and walks nicely even with a loose leash. He can be socialized with other dogs, and whoever brings time, patience, and a bit of humor into their shared life will gain an incredibly cute, affectionate, and mischievous companion. The puppy school will be an important part of his life in the initial period, but he learns quickly, and once shown what is expected, he proudly fulfills his tasks. We are looking for active, loving, and patient owners for Kisherceg, who can allow him to live happily and balancedly, and with whom he can explore the world. He is now microchipped and vaccinated, searching for his new owner!

Jelenleg a Noé Állatotthon Alapítvány gyengélkedő részlegén óvatosan, apró adagokban etetjük. About Kisherceg

What life with Kisherceg looks like

Kisherceg is a small young adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Rescued from severe neglect and starvation. Requires patient, active owner and dog training classes.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kisherceg, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kisherceg?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kisherceg on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kisherceg if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kisherceg already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kisherceg isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kisherceg and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
