Kit

Mixed Breed Cat Β· Male Β· Kitten

Kit is a handsome young black and white boy with a playful personality who is beginning to discover just how wonderful life can be when you feel safe and loved. When Kit first arrived at the centre with his siblings, he was incredibly frightened and unsure of the world around him. However, with time, patience and gentle encouragement, this lovely boy has already made fantastic progress and is starting to show us his true personality.Kit now actively looks for people to play with him and can often be spotted sitting by his cat pod door, entertaining himself with his favourite string toy and hoping someone will join in! He absolutely loves playtime and enjoys his food too, making both great ways to build a bond with him.Although Kit is growing in confidence, he still prefers to approach people on his own terms. He is beginning to enjoy gentle strokes but needs a home environment where he can make the first move and where he can learn that people can be trusted.Kit in a nutshell:- Young, playful and increasingly confident- Loves toys, playtime and tasty food- Enjoys gentle affection on his own terms- Must be the only cat in the household- Will need free-ranging outdoor access once fully settled- Needs a calm, patient home with a gentle approach- Has already made wonderful progress with socialisationKit has come such a long way in a short time, and we are incredibly proud of the confidence he is beginning to show. With a peaceful home, plenty of playtime and people willing to let him blossom at his own pace, we think this gorgeous boy has all the potential to become a truly wonderful companion.Could you be the person who helps Kit discover that the world isn't such a scary place after all?

About Kit

What life with Kit looks like

Kit is a kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months β€” most shelters arrange this before adoption.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Kit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
