KitKat

Cocker Spaniel · Female · Young · 3 years

01-10-26 KitKat is a lovely lady who has come to us from a breeder and is a gentle but nervous girl. She is still not overly comfortable with being approached, but once she has spent some time with you and gets to know you, she is happy to be picked up and handled. She is a sweet girl who is slowly learning that people can be kind and that she doesn't need to be so worried. KitKat relies on her kennel friends for comfort and confidence, so she will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home that she can look to as she settles into her new surroundings. Having a canine friend by her side will help her feel more secure as she learns all about life outside of kennels. KitKat has never lived in a home before and will need kind and patient adopters who can give her plenty of time to settle in and help her learn about house training and lead walking at her own pace. She can live with older, dog-savvy children who are sensible and understand that she will need time and space to build her confidence. KitKat is a very sweet lady who has so much to learn, but with the right home and someone willing to give her the time she needs, we know she will continue to blossom. She just needs someone to take a chance on her and show her how wonderful life can be. KitKat has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About KitKat

What life with KitKat looks like

KitKat is a young adult cocker spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting KitKat, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KitKat?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KitKat on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KitKat if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is KitKat already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KitKat isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know KitKat and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
