Kitten

Unknown · Kitten · 2 months

This little mouse is about 8 weeks old and is one of the more calm and gentle kittens. She approaches new situations with caution at first but gains confidence each day and becomes increasingly affectionate. She loves to snuggle under a soft blanket or find a cozy spot to sleep. Unlike her siblings, she is not a wild adventurer but plays quietly and observes before joining in. She already lets herself be picked up without difficulty and enjoys being held for a short moment. With patience, love, and a calm home, she will surely develop into a loyal and affectionate companion. We are looking for people who give her the time to arrive at her own pace. Those who offer this chance will be rewarded with a very special little cat that opens up more of her heart each day. As she is still a kitten, she will not be placed in solitary housing. She should move into an existing household with a similar-aged cat or move out with a suitable kitten. This way, she has a playmate and cuddle buddy and can continue to develop socially and age-appropriately. If you would like to give this gentle little soul a loving home, we look forward to your message. Contact: Frese Foster Home Tel.:

Kontakt: Pflegestelle Frese Tel.:

About Kitten

What life with Kitten looks like

Kitten is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at Tierheim Paderborn in Paderborn.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kitten, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kitten?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Paderborn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kitten on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kitten if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Paderborn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kitten already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kitten isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Paderborn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kitten and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
