Kitten

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten

These young kittens were born outdoors to a feral mother cat. They’ve now been secured and are looking for a loving home where they can be cared for and live safely. So far, the little ones haven’t had any contact with humans and are therefore still a bit shy. We’re looking for a home with gentle, patient people who will give them plenty of time to settle in at their own pace and build trust at their own speed. The kittens will be placed either in pairs or with an already existing cat. A friendly feline companion would certainly help them feel more secure and show them that there’s no need to fear humans. Please understand that we don’t place our kittens in single-cat households. Since these animals were born outdoors and have already experienced freedom, they’ll only be placed in homes where they’ll be allowed outdoor access again after being neutered. If you’re interested in adopting one of our kittens, please get in touch via or through the contact form. Your Name (required) Your Email Address (required) Subject Your Message

Dein Name (Pflichtfeld) Deine E-Mail-Adresse (Pflichtfeld) Betreff Deine Nachricht

About Kitten

What life with Kitten looks like

Kitten is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kitten, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kitten?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kitten on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kitten if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kitten already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kitten isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kitten and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
