Kitty

Jack Russell Terrier · Female · Young · 3 years

Judy & Kitty came into our care having been strays so we have very limited information on them. We have found them to be sweet, timid girls who lack confidence but once they know you, they love a fuss and start to show their individual personalities. Judy & Kitty are a sweet pair of Jack Russell Terriers looking for a new home together. They are a bonded pair and Judy gains a lot of confidence from Kitty who is the more outgoing of the two. They are nervous meeting other dogs so a home with each other and no other dogs is best, however they can live with cats providing sensible introductions are carried out in the home. They are friendly girls who can be worried so could join a home with children of Secondary School age who can appreciate their nervous nature and understand the need to take things slow to start with. Once they know you, they enjoy a fuss. Judy and Kitty are not currently used to walking on lead so a secure garden is essential to provide them with a safe space to play and explore while they continue their training so it will be a little while before they are ready to explore the wider world and when they are, this should be built up gradually. They will need someone at home most of the time initially to help settle them in.

About Kitty

What life with Kitty looks like

Kitty is a young adult jack russell terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton in Snetterton.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kitty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kitty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Snetterton handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kitty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kitty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Snetterton will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kitty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kitty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Snetterton early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kitty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
