Adopt Kiwi

We've known her since she ended up in Elisa's asylum as a little puppy. She's like a puppy with her sister. Jellybean and little brother Truffle saved by Elisa after she was dumped, without a mother dog. We find it sad that Kiwi is still staying in the asylum, waiting for someone in the Netherlands to offer her a nice, suitable place, for temporary care and guidance, or adoption. Life in the asylum is very stressful and of course it has its impact on Kiwi. Yet we see that she still wants to contact people, she just doesn't know how and is uncertain. Her brother Truffle was the same!Truffle received shelter from one of our host families when he was 12 months old and he has developed very well in a few weeks! His confidence grew by the day and after 6 weeks of care he could move to a permanent home. We don't have any guarantees, but we expect Kiwi, once she's in the Netherlands, to be able to travel around the same route as her brother. We met Kiwi in the asylum in January, March, May and June 2025, and then in January 2026. The pictures and movies at the bottom of this page give a good picture of this soft little dog. By the way, only the dogs that we expect to be happy in the Netherlands - and their adopters with the dog - will be mediated by us. Kiwi certainly belongs to that - of course she needs a good place to fit in. In January 2026 we had contact with Kiwi in the kennel, but because of the intense cold and the snow we did not walk with her. During our visit in June '25 our volunteers tell us about Kiwi:

Informatie: Zachtaardige, lieve, maar ook verlegen Kiwi... We kennen haar vanaf de tijd dat ze als kleine pup in Elisa's asiel terecht kwam. Ze is als pup samen met haar zusje Jellybean en broertje Truffle door Elisa gered nadat ze was gedumpt, zonder moeder hond. We vinden het verdrietig dat Kiwi nog steeds in het asiel verblijft, wachtend tot iemand in Nederland haar een fijne, passende plek aanbiedt, voor tijdelijk opvang en begeleiding, of adoptie.🥺 Het leven in het asiel is erg stressvol en natuurlijk heeft dat zijn weerslag op Kiwi. Toch zien we dat ze nog steeds graag contact wil met mensen, ze weet alleen niet zo goed hoe en is daarin onzeker. Haar broertje Truffle was net zo!Truffle kreeg opvang bij één van onze gastgezinnen toen hij 12 maanden was en hij heeft zich daar in een paar weken tijd enorm goed ontwikkeld! Zijn vertrouwen groeide met de dag en na 6 weken opvang kon hij verhuizen naar een blijvend thuis. Ook bij zijn adoptanten gaat het heel goed met hem!Garanties hebben we niet, maar we verwachten dat Kiwi, als ze eenmaal in Nederland is, ongeveer dezelfde route kan afleggen als haar broertje. We hebben Kiwi ontmoet in het asiel in januari, maart, mei en juni 2025, en vervolgens in januari 2026. De foto's en filmpjes onderaan deze pagina geven een goed beeld van deze zachte kleine hond. Overigens: alleen de honden waarvan we verwachten dat ze gelukkig zullen worden in Nederland - en hun adoptanten met de hond - worden door ons bemiddeld. Kiwi hoort daar zeker bij - natuurlijk heeft ze wel een goed bij haar passende plek nodig. In januari 2026 hebben we wel contact gehad met Kiwi in de kennel, maar vanwege de intense kou en de sneeuw hebben we toen niet met haar gewandeld.
