KK26N1

European Shorthair · Female · 2 months

Nova and Nouki are looking for a home together 🏡 Mama Nova and her daughter Nouki share a very special bond. Since Nouki is still incredibly attached to her mom, we’re searching for a warm, permanent home where this inseparable duo can stay together. Mama Nova is a very shy cat lady. If you approach her calmly and give her time to come up to you and sniff around a bit, the ice will quickly melt. Once she warms up, she thoroughly enjoys being petted and sweetly asks for affection. Nouki’s personality is just right in between that of her other sisters. One moment she can be delightfully playful and mischievous, while the next she’s calm and gentle. Like her mom, she’s initially a bit cautious, but with Nova by her side, she quickly feels safe and secure. Do you have a patient heart and a peaceful home for this beautiful mom and her daughter? Then we’d love to hear from you! ❤️ You can apply via:

About KK26N1

What life with KK26N1 looks like

KK26N1 is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Dierenbescherming Mechelen in Mechelen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting KK26N1, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KK26N1?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenbescherming Mechelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KK26N1 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KK26N1 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenbescherming Mechelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is KK26N1 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KK26N1 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenbescherming Mechelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know KK26N1 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
