Klecks

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt Klecks! Seize his story: Bistrita, Romania. The sweet Klecks sits lost in his enclosure at the public shelter in Bistrita, Romania. He doesn’t know how he got there or what happened. Everything is new and foreign to him, and the closeness and noise make him very uncomfortable. Klecks was brought into the shelter with Dragu. We suspect they lived on the street together and were caught by the dog catchers. They might be part of the former group of Norchen, Lio, Noa, and Einstein, as they all look somewhat similar. Klecks is about 1 year old and approximately 50-55cm tall. He has a perfect medium size for all activities. Once he settles in, he looks forward to nice walks and will surely enjoy nose work, like mantrailing or trail searches, etc. Of course, plenty of cuddle time should not be neglected. Klecks is a young male dog who wants to make up for lost time and discover the world. He is in the middle of puberty. His hormones can sometimes play tricks and there is often chaos in his head. It is important to stand by the ward with love and a lot of patience. With an upbringing based on positive reinforcement, the foundation for a good bond and deep trust is laid. Respect, understanding, and care are especially important in this phase. Klecks is still shy and unsure in new situations. Therefore, we are looking for a quiet, more rural home, preferably with a garden where he can lie and sun himself. Klecks is searching for sensitive and experienced people who are not too demanding of him at first and can show him how a normal dog life works. He is a young dog and has a lot to learn. Children should be older and know how to handle dogs with respect and responsibility. Klecks should always be allowed to set his own pace and decide what is doable for him.

About Klecks

What life with Klecks looks like

Klecks is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Klecks, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Klecks?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Klecks on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Klecks if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Klecks already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Klecks isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Klecks and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
