Klemens

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 9 months

Klemens is a dignified dog born in 2017, who has been in the shelter for quite some time. He is a very distinctive dog with a beautiful gaze and thick, impressive fur. His appearance resembles a small bear and it is definitely hard to pass him by. His character is calm and composed, he loves human contact. He approaches the cage himself for petting and clearly demands attention. After a few moments of petting, he can even turn to the other side, as if to say that it's time for another round of cuddles. At the same time, he is a dog who likes contact on his own terms. There are places he doesn't like to touch and you need to learn his boundaries and way of communication. Relationship with humans Klemens loves the presence of people and can be extremely sensitive. However, he is not a dog that will accept everything without limits. In the cage, he has been known to show his teeth when his food bowl is taken away, so the future owner should be aware that some things will require calm work and building trust. Activity and walks He is a rather calm dog who doesn't need a huge amount of activity. He is happy to go for walks, likes to observe his surroundings and spend time quietly. He finds his best in a predictable environment and doesn't like too many changes. Interactions with other animals He lives with another dog and gets along well with him. He could also live with another stable dog, but it would be necessary to introduce them first. He reacted rather indifferently to cats when passing by the enclosure, so there is a good chance that he could live with a cat if properly introduced. Home with children Due to the fact that he likes touch, but only on his own terms and has his own boundaries, we do not recommend him for a home with children. Too pushy behavior could cause discomfort and attempts to distance himself by showing his teeth. Grooming Klemens requires regular care of his fur. He has thick fur that tends to mat, especially since his shorter legs easily pick up dirt from the ground. He is not a big fan of brushing. However, he tolerated the bath well and did not show aggressive behavior during it. Drying and brushing were definitely less to his liking, but an experienced groomer should be able to handle him without any problems. The effects of the groomer's work can be seen in the last photo :) What kind of home is he looking for He would best find himself in a house with a garden or in a well-prepared outdoor enclosure with a warm, insulated doghouse. It is clear that he knows these conditions best and feels most comfortable in them. The most important thing for him will be a peaceful life, regular contact with a human and a caregiver who will respect his boundaries and learn his way of communication. Klemens is an extremely unique dog, calm, dignified and very distinctive. He can be a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates his independence, respect for his personal space and calm disposition. Weight: 24kg Leash: yes Attitude towards dogs: positive He has been neutered, dewormed, de-loused, vaccinated, chipped, registered in the Safe Animal database. The dog is located in: Funny Pets Shelter in Czartki Czartki 49b, 98-200 Sieradz powiat sieradzki, łódzkie 43 828 36 46 - general

PL·Show original

To niezwykle charakterystyczny pies o pięknym spojrzeniu i gęstej, efektownej sierści. Swoim wyglądem przypomina małego niedźwiadka i zdecydowanie trudno przejść obok niego obojętnie. Suszenie i wyczesywanie zdecydowanie mniej przypadły mu do gustu, jednak doświadczony groomer powinien bez problemu sobie z nim poradzić. Psiak przebywa w: Schronisko Funny Pets w Czartkach Czartki 49b, 98-200 Sieradz powiat sieradzki, woj. łódzkie 43 828 36 46 - ogólny

About Klemens

What life with Klemens looks like

Klemens is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Klemens, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Klemens?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Klemens on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Klemens if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Klemens already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Klemens isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Klemens and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
