Kleo (vermittelt)

Female · Senior · 12 years

Regarding the ages mentioned here, they are often estimated values as we do not always know the exact age. Other details like size are subjective. Kleo Born May 20, 2014 Gender: female dog Breed: Wuschelmix Size: will probably remain small Foster home: Kleo is already rehomed and in her final home 😉 Unfortunately, due to a technical mishap, all photos were lost…. But thanks to the adopters and intensive research, we were able to find some again or new ones were sent to us. Many thanks to the adopters. I am Kleo and just arrived. Everything is still new to me here and I am now completely without my doggy friends. This makes me a bit insecure. I am very excited about dog visits and then I will also dare to play. At night, I sleep bravely in my dog bed. Walking on a leash, that is something I still need to practice, says my foster mom. That's true, I don't know how to do many things here, like rain, grass paths… but one thing I do know: driving a car. I like that. That's it for now. If I stay here longer, I will write again… but maybe I will find a home soon and then I will get in touch from there! Also, Kleo is the result of the carelessness and stubbornness of some of the residents of the island of Santorini. Instead of having their dogs neutered, it keeps happening that there is unwanted dog breeding. Kleo was lucky not to be killed, but she came to a local animal rescuer. Now the young lady is here and waiting for her second chance. Only with your support can we prevent the dogs from facing certain death. Be part of the rescue chain. Help as a foster home. Of course, we need nice people here in Germany who can temporarily take in the dogs. Help through your donation. The costs for rescuing a dog exceed our shelter fees. Even partial donations can help. TSV Second Chance Dogs e.V. About Kleo (vermittelt)

What life with Kleo (vermittelt) looks like

Kleo (vermittelt) is a small senior dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kleo (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kleo (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kleo (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kleo (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kleo (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kleo (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kleo (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
