adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Peace in peace, you invisible soul… Your story: Oh, Kleopatra! You're completely frightened and hide in your hut, not wanting to be seen at all. That's a shame, because we would love to show you to the world! Maybe there's a perfect home out there for you? What do you think, should we look for one? Kleopatra is not yet convinced, but we are! For this female dog has been waiting far too long for the request that will change her life forever. Kleopatra is estimated to be around 10-11 years old and has a medium size of about 50-55 cm. She doesn't like to leave her hut and runs off the moment she sees people. We can't blame her for that and fear that she must have only had bad experiences with people. But Kleopatra likes her fellow animals and feels comfortable with them. A confident only dog would surely help her a lot with the adjustment. She doesn't know cats and we can't test them. Children should already be older, anything small and loud would surely only unsettle her. Kleopatra comes to us without a history. What she has already experienced and seen is foreign to us. Therefore, we wish for her a home that accepts her as she is and understands the burden that Kleopatra carries. Much must be learned by her, much will not be learned by her, and therefore she needs especially understanding people who can give her all the time in the world to settle in. Our beautiful lady wishes for a quiet home. A direct access to the garden would be great for her. City life doesn't suit her, she lets herself be intimidated far too easily. Who has a place in their heart for our Kleopatra? Kleopatra travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to her new home. She would really be delighted to have a foster home! Many thanks, Alexandra D.! You gave Kleopatra her beautiful name! Heartfelt thanks, Elke S.! You support Kleopatra with a monthly sponsorship. As of: 18.10.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Ruhe in Frieden, du unsichtbare Seele… Was meinst du, wollen wir eins suchen? Vielen Dank Alexandra D.! Du hast Kleopatra ihren schönen Namen geschenkt! Lieben Dank Elke S.! Du unterstützt Kleopatra mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Stand: 18.10.2023

About Kleopatra

What life with Kleopatra looks like

Kleopatra is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kleopatra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kleopatra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kleopatra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kleopatra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kleopatra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kleopatra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kleopatra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
