adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Knolle has found a home! His story: Knolle is a cheerful, fluffy puppy who lives together with his brother Matti at our animal rescuer Diana Larissa in Bistrița. The two brothers are about four months old and come from a female dog in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, their mother is extremely fearful and could not be secured despite numerous attempts. So Knolle and Matti are now growing up without a mother, but well cared for in safety. It is already clear: Knolle will become a medium to large-sized dog. His mother is medium to large, the father is unknown. His dense, soft fur and overall appearance suggest that possibly herding dog genes could be in him. Knolle shows himself to be very social, friendly, and cuddly. He likes people very much, enjoys being close, and also gets along well with other dogs. Even with cats, he has already been tested. Typical puppy, he is playful, curious, and explores his surroundings with open interest. Of course, Knolle still does not know what life in a home is like. Everything a young dog needs to learn lies ahead of him. House training, leash walking, everyday routines, and new environmental stimuli are new territory. Puberty will also come with a phase where boundaries are tested and rules are questioned. If herding dog genes are indeed in Knolle, this brings with it very special qualities. Herding dogs are known to be loyal, sensitive, vigilant, and very independent. They need clear structures, reliable people, and an environment that gives them security. Important are patience, understanding, loving consequences, and an education through positive reinforcement. A home with space, located in the countryside, and with a securely fenced garden, would be especially beautiful for Knolle. A positively working dog training class can help to promote him meaningfully and strengthen the bond. Knolle will be able to travel from March. He travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport. Age-wise, he is still not neutered. Also, a foster home would be a wonderful start for him. Who falls in love with this fluffy little boy and gives Knolle a home where he can grow up and thrive? A heartfelt thank you to Marina, who gave Knolle his name. As of: 20.02. Some symptoms here are age-related.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Knolle

What life with Knolle looks like

Knolle is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Knolle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Knolle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Knolle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Knolle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Knolle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Knolle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Knolle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
