KnÖPfchen

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! KnÖPfchen has found a home! His story: The little KnÖPfchen is about 3 months old and is expected to remain small. Currently, the sweet male dog lives in a Romanian foster home in Baia Mare with his sisters Amy, Red, and Fibi, and shows himself to be a very friendly, open, and cheerful puppy. With his light, fluffy fur, dark button eyes, and inquisitive look, KnÖPfchen lives up to his name. He is typically playful as a puppy, exploring his surroundings with great enthusiasm and loving to play with his siblings. At the same time, he constantly seeks the company of humans and enjoys cuddles very much – a little cuddle bear with a big heart. Of course, like every young dog, KnÖPfchen is also facing puberty. In this phase, he will test his limits and perhaps temporarily forget a command or two. With loving consistency, patience, and clear structures, he will master this time well and grow into a great companion. As a puppy, KnÖPfchen still needs to learn the basics of dog life, such as house training, leash manners, and everyday rules. With sensitive training and enough time, he will develop into a wonderful family dog. For KnÖPfchen, we wish for a loving home where he will receive security, safety, and a lot of affection, and where he can grow up as a full-fledged family member. He travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and with an EU pet passport after a positive evaluation. Who will fall in love with the little KnÖPfchen and give him a warm dog bed for life? Our special thanks go to the namesake Alexandra D., who gave KnÖPfchen his sweet name. As of: 16.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About KnÖPfchen

What life with KnÖPfchen looks like

KnÖPfchen is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting KnÖPfchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KnÖPfchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KnÖPfchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KnÖPfchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is KnÖPfchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KnÖPfchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know KnÖPfchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
