Knuffi

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Knuffi has found his luck! His story: Caution: A real Knuffi is waiting for you! His name really fits the little male dogs like a glove. He just looks cuddly with his funny hanging ears and the single white spot on his otherwise pitch-black fur. We can't really tell much about Knuffi's past. He was found as a street dog in Romania and is now waiting in the shelter in Zalau for his heart-melting people. However, in the past, he seems to have made no bad experiences with people. He is extremely people-oriented and exceptionally friendly to all two-legged beings. Sometimes he is almost too overflowing with his love, which he shows us. Knuffi would like to be surrounded by people all day and be petted. Sometimes he even barks to demand attention. We are therefore looking for people who can dedicate enough time and love to Knuffi, but who are also able to show him his limits and deal with his curious and lively nature. The leash training is already being practiced diligently with him, and it's going well. However, further training on the leash is still necessary. Knuffi gets along well with dogs of any kind. Unfortunately, a compatibility with cats could not be tested. With his 44 cm and just 15 kg body weight, he is the perfect animal companion in all life situations. However, his new family should be aware that Knuffi does not yet know the life in a loving family. He still needs to learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is in full swing. Here, he needs people who can approach with a lot of love and patience, and possibly also attend some positively working dog training classes with him and forgive him one or two mishaps. Leash handling, house training, and being alone are still foreign words to him. Especially being alone is likely not going to work from one day to the next due to Knuffi's people-fixated nature. During puberty, he will certainly test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things he has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Knuffi will definitely be a great life partner. We hope so much that he can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for him. Knuffi is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings an EU pet passport with him and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. We would be very happy to have a foster home for the sweet man! Who will give him a loving forever home? Thank you to Ker W.! You gave Knuffi his name. Status: 07.11.

Vielen Dank an Ker W.! Du hast Knuffi seinen Namen geschenkt. About Knuffi

What life with Knuffi looks like

Knuffi is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Knuffi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Knuffi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Knuffi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Knuffi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Knuffi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Knuffi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Knuffi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
