adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process KÖNig Otto has found its own home! 45525 Hattingen. KÖNig Otto waits in his foster home for you! His story: Bistrita, Romania. KÖNig Otto, Megan, Choco, and Adelheid are four puppy siblings who can't wait to find their new heart parents. Does someone have a warm and cozy dog bed that the little ones can move into? Attention, attention: here comes the little king himself! KÖNig Otto is 4 months old and behaves accordingly puppy-like. Alert and curious, he wanders around and enjoys every moment of attention he can get. When our helpers come to his pen, his tail wags so wildly that one might think the little guy will lift off the ground. Otto will likely stay a small size. We wish for social male dogs who won't have any expectations of him. KÖNig Otto is still a baby and needs to learn everything in peace. With patience, sensitivity, and a positively reinforcing training goal, the little king still has to learn the whole dog ABC. Just like his siblings, KÖNig Otto still has puberty ahead. A time when young dogs can also be a bit mischievous and their hormones can go on a rollercoaster. For this time, it's important to take KÖNig Otto by the paw with loving consistency and to guide him. KÖNig Otto would be very happy about a visit to a puppy or dog school. After a positive KÖNig Otto will be microchipped, dewormed, and equipped with an EU pet passport at this point. He would also be over the moon about a loving foster home. Has KÖNig Otto managed to make your heart beat a little faster? We look forward to your request! Many thanks, Günther! You have given KÖNig Otto his name!

About KÖNig Otto

What life with KÖNig Otto looks like

KÖNig Otto is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting KÖNig Otto, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KÖNig Otto?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KÖNig Otto on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KÖNig Otto if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is KÖNig Otto already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KÖNig Otto isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know KÖNig Otto and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
