KORA

Podenco · Female · Senior · 10 years

KORA was rescued from abandonment and the French association took charge of her. She was adopted but returned to our animal shelter after a year as her "family" could no longer take care of her… Now she is back with us until she finds her permanent home. KORA is simply adorable; very affectionate, friendly, and sociable, she loves people, walks very well and enjoys it, her relationship with other dogs is perfect. KORA does not tolerate gluten-based food; when she returned to us, apart from suffering the stress of being abandoned by her "family," she sometimes experienced convulsions. After consulting with a specialist, we were told that she might be suffering from a gluten allergy, as this is one of the symptoms. After changing her diet to gluten-free food, KORA is now in perfect health. She is dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for Leishmania and 4dx (Heartworm disease, Ehrlichiosis -Lyme disease, and Anaplasmosis), spayed, with a passport, and an adoption contract.

About KORA

What life with KORA looks like

KORA is a medium-sized senior podenco dog waiting at ACUNR - Animales Con Un Nuevo Rumbo in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting KORA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KORA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ACUNR - Animales Con Un Nuevo Rumbo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KORA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KORA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ACUNR - Animales Con Un Nuevo Rumbo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is KORA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KORA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ACUNR - Animales Con Un Nuevo Rumbo early rather than rehoming privately; they know KORA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
