Adopt Korba

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Korba is about 4 years old, an energetic female dog looking for a responsible home. Korba has had a difficult start: 3 years ago she was found tied to a bench in a park. As a puppy, she struggled with various fearful behaviors and difficulties in responding to stress. However, the female dog was taken in by a loving and patient caregiver, who managed to work through many challenges with her. Korba has become a companion for mountain hikes and under the tent. Moreover, she swims well and handles car rides well, loves running and can accompany on longer bike trails. She knows many commands and performs them nicely with the help of a toy or treats and is not distracted by the surroundings. In moments of excessive excitement, she obediently stays in place and calms down with commands. Korba is about 4 years old (according to veterinarians' estimates); weighs 35kg, is a mix of a Labrador and a Pitbull. She is spayed, and has been sent to dog hotels several times, where she caused no problems. A home without other animals is sought (or someone willing to work on adaptation), especially without children, because Korba is jealous of the caregiver's attention. Korba needs an aware caregiver who is willing to take on work with her. The female dog will certainly reward with her devotion!

About Korba

What life with Korba looks like

Korba is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Korba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Korba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Korba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Korba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Korba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Korba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Korba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
