Kubek

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 13 months

Kubek is not a dog that will jump up on your lap. And it's very possible that he never will. He came to us as a withdrawn and fearful dog. We don't know exactly what happened to him, but we know that what he experienced disrupted his sense of security and trust in people. Today, Kubek avoids contact with strangers. He is cautious, tense, and distrustful - not because he doesn't want to be loved, but because he can no longer believe in human good intentions. This is a dog with a difficult baggage that doesn't go away after a week or a month. It's a baggage that you have to learn to live with - together with him. If you're looking for a "ready to love" dog - this is not the dog for you. Kubek doesn't seek contact, he doesn't get excited at the sight of people, he doesn't seek attention. He won't be a "grateful adoptee" who immediately trusts. He may never become a dog that comes when called, seeks closeness or plays on walks. And you have to be ready for that. Adopting Kubek is a process - long, demanding and without guarantees. It starts with getting to know him at the shelter, from meetings that from his perspective will often be just "enduring the presence of a human." It takes time to even be noticed. And even more time to be able to open up - if at all. This is not an adoption for everyone. We are looking for someone who is very aware, with experience in working with fearful dogs - someone who won't expect gratitude, progress or "reward for patience". Someone who can accept Kubek as he is - and as he may always be. If you understand this - and still want to try - fill out the questionnaire. Adopcja Kubka to proces – długi, wymagający i bez gwarancji. Zaczyna się od poznania go w schronisku, od spotkań, które z jego perspektywy często będą po prostu „znoszeniem obecności człowieka”. Potrzeba czasu, by w ogóle dał się zauważyć. I jeszcze więcej czasu, by mógł się otworzyć – jeśli w ogóle. Jeśli to rozumiesz – i mimo wszystko chcesz spróbować – wypełnij ankietę. Waga : 16kg Smycz : nie Stosunek do psów : pozytywny Został wykastrowany, odpchlony, odrobaczony, zaszczepiony, zachipowany, zarejestrowany w bazie Safe Animal. About Kubek

What life with Kubek looks like

Kubek is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adopters usually cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kubek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kubek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kubek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kubek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Kubek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kubek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kubek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
