Adopt Kura

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 2 months

Kura's story – she was born in a colony of stray cats on Białołęka in Warsaw. She was taken to a clinic at the age of 10 weeks along with her brother. Her brother found a home, but Kura was not so lucky because of her wildness. We were asked by the clinic staff to take care of her. Because Kura kept getting infections one after another, staying in the shelter she was supposed to go to could be deadly for her, as well as returning to the colony. What is she like? Kura is an energetic tricolor cat – ready to find a home. She loves to play with other cats, people or dogs, but she can also entertain herself. During rest time, she spends a lot of time as a neighborhood monitor from the windowsill. She willingly comes for petting, purrs, talks and keeps company with the caretaker during daily tasks, pushing herself into the hands. New people initially scare her a bit, but after a few minutes of calm waiting, she comes running to get acquainted. Important information – Spayed – Dewormed – Vaccinated – Tested for FIV/FeLV – negative result – She is not a solitary type, therefore requires a home where there is already a cat – She is currently in Warsaw, in a temporary home! We do not give cats to homes that are leaving. ! We require balcony safety and at least one window.

! Wymagamy zabezpieczenia balkonu oraz przynajmniej jednego okna.

About Kura

What life with Kura looks like

Kura is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Psy Ulicy Warszawa in Warszawa.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kura, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kura?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Psy Ulicy Warszawa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kura on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kura if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Psy Ulicy Warszawa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kura already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kura isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Psy Ulicy Warszawa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kura and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
