Adopt Kvíz

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Dormand is unfortunately no longer an unknown place from which many dogs had to be rescued that were kept on chains. This time, a female dog resembling a Kaj and her puppies were successfully rescued from a chain with the help of the Füzesabonyi animal welfare foundation. Our dog was named Kvíz, who is no longer very young, born around 2016, resembling a Kaj. Kvíz is friendly with people, very good-natured and calm, and can bring a lot of joy and happiness to her beloved owner. We are looking for a home for her where she can be a full-fledged family member. We hope someone will come along to give her everything she may not have received so far—home, love, and care befitting a dog and a family member. She is not suitable for lonely farms or as a garden decoration, so she will not be given to such places. We are looking exclusively for an experienced, dog-savvy owner. Very adaptable and can easily get along with other dogs. She really needs brushing and human company. Unfortunately, her heartworm test came back positive when she entered, but the treatments were successful. Her control test was negative, so she has recovered!

About Kvíz

What life with Kvíz looks like

Kvíz is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Previously had heartworm but successfully treated and now negative

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kvíz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kvíz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kvíz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kvíz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kvíz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kvíz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kvíz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
