KYO

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Kyo, a male dog born in April 2023, is a medium-sized, timid but gentle dog seeking a forever family. He is currently in a Romanian animal shelter and cannot be met before adoption. Someone out there, will they choose to save me this time? I have been living behind the bars of a shelter for years, waiting, watching others leave, and hoping someone will stop in front of my kennel and say, "That's him." I am a shy dog, especially at first. I need time, gentleness, and patience to trust. But I am not aggressive. On the contrary, when I feel safe, I can be petted and enjoy these moments of tenderness. I also get along very well with other dogs, which could be a good starting point to help me gain confidence. I don't ask for much... A calm home. A person who will respect my pace. Patience. Love. I have spent my whole life waiting behind a fence. I just want to know what it's like to have a bed, a house, walks, pets... and someone to love. 🥹 🔹 Compatibility with other dogs and humans 🔹 A canine companion in the household would be ideal for my adaptation 🔹 Compatibility with cats (to be tested) 🔹 A house with a garden would be ideal for leash training

About KYO

What life with KYO looks like

KYO is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at L in l arche de kala.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting KYO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KYO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. L handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KYO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KYO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — L will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is KYO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KYO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with L early rather than rehoming privately; they know KYO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
