How do I contact the shelter about Kyser?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Stéphane Lamart handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kyser on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Kyser if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Stéphane Lamart will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Kyser already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Kyser isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Stéphane Lamart early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kyser and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Kyser

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Kyser - Looking for his true life Born September 16, 2022 Male Dogo Argentino mix Kyser did not have the start in life he deserved. Before arriving at the shelter, he lived tied to a radiator in an apartment with very little freedom and interaction. A life of constraints and loneliness, far from what a dog should know. And yet, despite this past, Kyser has retained a beautiful trust in humans. He is a very kind dog with people, who appreciates their presence and who is discovering today everything he did not have the chance to know before. A big dog who needs to expend himself! Kyser needs daily and fairly long outings to expend himself fully. He loves to run on a leash. A home with a perfectly fenced yard would be a real plus, provided that he is not left alone without supervision (walks remaining essential). Once expended, Kyser also knows how to appreciate the calm. Inside, he is calm, clean and non-destructive. And what about compatibility? Dogs: to be determined on a case-by-case basis (upon presentation with the family dog). Cats: Kyser is not OK with cats at this time. Children: no particular problem, but be careful of his large size that could bump into the youngest without wanting to. Kyser now deserves to know something else. Behind this big dog is a big dog ready to discover the comfort of a home and humans who will take care of him. He will need a family

About Kyser

What life with Kyser looks like

Kyser is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Stéphane Lamart in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.
