Kytta

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 1 year

Kitty is a young adventurer with charm, joie de vivre, and her own mind. This is who I am: I was found injured, had a radius-ulna fracture on the right (radius-ulna fracture) and a fracture in the metacarpal bone area. I had to recover and learn to walk again. Now I can run and jump again and I'm looking forward to my new cat life with lots of action. Currently, I still receive pain medication once a day, but this can be stopped after consultation with the shelter veterinarians after the adjustment period. I am a confident, joie de vivre cat lady and start to get bored quickly. I like to climb on catwalks, I'm active and I chase my play toy. I also "entertain" myself with my humans and I also like to eat in their company. I wish for... a great home with the possibility of outdoor access in a safe area (from spring 2027), because I want to explore and experience a lot. Indoor housing would also be possible if enough variety and occupation is offered. My humans should have a lot of time for me, because then I just like to have them around. I would be happy about a secured balcony or a secured window. I tend to show interest in other cats, but I can also be a little diva. So if there are already cats, the introduction should be done with a lot of calm and time. A female, spayed cat between 1-3 years old and with a character that suits me would be a good match. Children living in the household should already be older and sensible or have cat experience. May I be happy with you? If you are interested, please contact me directly via the inquiry form below.

About Kytta

What life with Kytta looks like

Kytta is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Berlin in Berlin.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kytta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kytta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kytta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kytta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kytta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kytta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kytta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
