Lacey & Luigi

European Shorthair · Unknown · Kitten · 3 months

Lacey & Luigi are two little furry runners looking for a shared home. We are two bundles of energy with lots of heart. All we need now is a shared home where we can play, run, cuddle and grow up together. This is us: I, Lacey, am a pretty gray-striped girl with white markings, Luigi is a white-gray-striped cat. Together we are a really great little dream team. We were both born in the animal shelter and have a lot of energy in our little cat bottoms.😄 We love playing, romping and running around together. We are particularly fond of the cat treadmill. When we get going, it's: Please fasten your seatbelts - here come two little furry runners! We could hardly be more different in terms of character: I am a super active, outgoing and playful little whirlwind lady - curious, open and ready for any fun. Luigi is a bit shy and reserved. He sometimes needs a little longer to gain trust and open up completely. But once he has settled in, he also shows how much fun he has playing and romping together. And that's exactly where we complement each other wonderfully: Together we run, play and zoom around the room. We especially love our cat treadmill. We run until our paws are burning - preferably both at the same time, because sharing is something that needs to be learned. Despite our energy, we are two very sweet little furry paws that also enjoy the closeness to their humans. We play, romp and can enjoy petting, but we often have other things on our minds. We wish for... a great, spacious home with plenty of room to romp, play and run. Flat-keeping would be ok for us (a secured balcony is a bonus), but secured outdoor access would also be great. We look forward to people who enjoy active cats and want to exhaust them with play, activity and shared adventures. Luigi should be given time to gain trust and settle in quietly. Children are allowed, but should not be too small so that all parties can cope with the temperament and Luigi's shyness. Who would like to give us a great home? If you are interested, please contact us via the inquiry form below - we are already looking forward to you.

About Lacey & Luigi

What life with Lacey & Luigi looks like

Lacey & Luigi is a small puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Berlin in Berlin.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lacey & Luigi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lacey & Luigi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lacey & Luigi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lacey & Luigi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lacey & Luigi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lacey & Luigi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lacey & Luigi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
