Lady Gaga: The Opinionated GooseAmong the sanctuary's most memorable residents is Lady Gaga, a goose with a personality as bold as her namesake. Her vocal nature and willingness to make her opinions known she has become something of a mascot for the sanctuary with her distinctive honks and adding an element of joyful chaos to the peaceful grounds

About Lady Gaga

What life with Lady Gaga looks like

Lady Gaga is an adult mixed breed bird waiting at Brač Animal Sanctuary in Nerežišća (Brač).

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇭🇷Adopting from Croatia

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lady Gaga, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lady Gaga?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Brač Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lady Gaga on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lady Gaga if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a bird can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Brač Animal Sanctuary what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Lady Gaga already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a bird comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Brač Animal Sanctuary directly what is included and what Lady Gaga still needs.
What happens if Lady Gaga isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Brač Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lady Gaga and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
