adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Laila has found its own home! Her story: Since March 2025, Laila has been living on her foster home in Baden-Württemberg and surprises everyone every day: She develops incredible trust very quickly and shows herself to be open, friendly, and trusting towards all people and animals. She gets along well with other dogs – she is social, balanced, and enjoys the company of her fellow animals. In her foster home, she lives with 2 male dogs and goes to dog training classes once a week, where she also behaves well towards both humans and animals. Laila is about 3 years old, 55–60 cm tall, and has a very special, gentle aura. She is easy to care for, unobtrusive, and hardly stands out in everyday life. Since the first day, she has been house-trained and can stay alone for about two hours – longer has not yet been tested. Even driving does not pose a problem for her. Children have not yet been tested, but given her friendly and gentle nature when interacting with people, we assume she would also do well with them. Laila is despite her background an amazingly strong female dog who is willing to take on a lot with a little persuasion and curiously explores her surroundings. She brings a great mix of reserve and adventurous spirit. Typical of a dog, of course, she finds everything in the forest quite interesting, but she reacts excellently under the right guidance, which is why we still wish for people with dog experience for her. In love with Laila? Then ask about her right away and arrange a personal meet! After a positive assessment, her EU pet passport is also in her possession. Many thanks to anonymous Patin! Your sponsorship was the starting gun for a new life! As of: 21.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Verliebt in Laila? Stand: 21.04.2025

About Laila

What life with Laila looks like

Laila is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Laila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Laila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Laila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Laila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Laila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Laila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Laila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
