adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Lala has found her home! Her story: Lala looks at us with big, sad eyes. She sits frightened in her wooden hut and is intimidated by the noise around her. It is loud, dirty, and the many dogs stress her greatly. Lala would like to be in a quiet place where she can relax and lead a happy dog life. But currently, her hope is dwindling more and more that she will ever leave this cramped pen… Lala was found abandoned in an unoccupied area on an open field in Bistrita. No one knows how long she has been out there alone in nature, waiting for someone to find her and give her a second chance. Now she lives in the public shelter in Bistrita and no longer understands the world… The beautiful Lala is estimated to be around 3 years old and stands at a shoulder height of about 60cm. She has probably had little or no positive contact with people so far, as she still shows herself to be very shy (but never aggressive) and is not yet approachable. However, she takes food from the hand and is gradually trusting Tudor, as he feeds her daily. If given the opportunity to relax and build trust with her people and understand that she is not a danger to them, she will surely thaw out and soon enjoy cuddles and attention. We wish Lala a quiet and rural environment, with an enclosed garden, and a patient, friendly, and loving interaction with experienced people who have no expectations of her. Children should already be older and know how to handle dogs with respect and responsibility. She should always be allowed to set her own pace and decide what is doable or not for her.

About Lala

What life with Lala looks like

Lala is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
