LALI

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten · 7 months

Status: Found Race: European Gender: Female Microchip: 967000010644019 Birthdate: 26/03/2026 Country: Belgium At the shelter since: 18/09/2026 Lali, the timid street cat who dreams of a gentle and patient home Lali is a beautiful European cat whose story began on the streets of Brussels, where she lived wild with her brother and sister. This life, far from the caresses and safety of a home, made her a timid cat. But behind this reserve lies a small soul that is waiting for one thing: to finally be able to trust. What we know about her: Lali is clean, which will make her installation easier. She gets along well with other cats, and the presence of a feline companion could even reassure her and help her gain confidence. She has known life outdoors, but she could very well adapt to apartment life. She also seems to tolerate solitude, although this remains to be verified, because we have never seen her alone. Her special needs: Lali is quite timid, and it will take her a lot of time, calm and gentleness to open up. Nothing should be rushed: every small step, every trusting look will be a victory. She will probably not let herself be caressed right away, and that's normal. Due to her fear, she is not suitable for homes with young children, whose agitation and unpredictable gestures could frighten her. The ideal home for Lali: Lali will suit a calm, patient and caring person or couple, without young children, ready to give her all the time she needs to tame herself. A quiet home, with or without another cat, where she can hide, observe and move at her own pace. Want to meet her? About LALI

What life with LALI looks like

LALI is a kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting LALI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LALI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LALI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LALI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is LALI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LALI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know LALI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
