Lalo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Lalo arrived at the shelter on September 8, 2026, and despite just arriving, one thing is already clear: he is not a dog paralyzed by fear. From the beginning, he is showing a good attitude and socializes in a friendly way. He is a loving dog, one of those that always seem to have something to say and face the day with quite a bit of swagger: a true witty grandfather. And being an advanced age does not mean he has lost the desire to do things. On the contrary: it shows that he needs activity, movement and stimuli in his daily life. He still has a lot of attitude and desire to participate in what happens around him. Now Lalo is starting his story with us and we will still have to get to know him better. But what we already know is that we have a sociable, loving, active for his age and with a very lively personality dog in front of us. Lalo deserves someone to see beyond his years and want to share this stage of his life with him.

ES·Show original

About Lalo

What life with Lalo looks like

Lalo is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Villena in Spain.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lalo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lalo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Villena handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lalo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lalo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Villena will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lalo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lalo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Villena early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lalo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
