adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Lalo has found his place! His story: Lalo has lived in Germany since October 2023 and is searching for the people who can offer him a happy and species-appropriate life! Originally from Bistrita in Romania – there, he was found with 10 siblings. In his foster home, Lalo has already learned a lot. He is very attentive to his first female dog, is house-trained, and already walks well on a leash. With a current shoulder height of about 70 cm, he has grown into a large male dog and can sometimes be a bit clumsy. With such long legs, where to go? 🙂 Lalo is very loving and friendly. The handsome male dog, who carries Husky genes, would prefer a rural home in nature. Ideally in a pack. Adequate physical exertion, but also mental and nose work are important for him. During dog encounters, he reacts problemlessly. He waits for the behavior of other dogs and adjusts his behavior accordingly. No prey drive has been established so far, and he doesn't chase cats either. Currently, Lalo lives with a larger child, and it's going well without problems. Lalo has not yet gone through the pubertal phase. A loving but consistent upbringing will help both the human and the dog to successfully navigate this challenging phase. Lalo shows typical Husky traits. We therefore wish for people who can realistically and species-appropriately tire him out and who may even have experience with Huskies. Huskies are friendly and gentle creatures who need a lot of movement in nature. A Husky is definitely not a couch potato and would express itself by damaging the apartment furnishings if not sufficiently exercised. In short: These are amazing dogs that require a lot and are balanced family dogs. The beautiful Lalo is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU pet passport with him and is waiting for his home! Could it be yours? Many thanks, Silvie S.! Your namingsponsorship was the starting gun for a new life! As of: 26.05.

In seiner Pflegestelle konnte Lalo schon viel lernen. Stand: 26.05.2024

About Lalo

What life with Lalo looks like

Lalo is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lalo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lalo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lalo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lalo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lalo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lalo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lalo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
