adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Lana can travel directly to your final destination! Her story: Lana means "The Affectionate" and she certainly is. She lovingly cared for her puppies. But now it's time for someone to take care of the loving dog mom and give her the love she deserves. She probably lived on the streets of Romania until she was caught by the dog catchers and brought to our shelter. But this is neither the place for our pretty fluffball nor for her puppies. Lana is a medium-sized female dog with a shoulder height of 45 cm and a weight of 15 kg. She might look like a Tibetan Terrier mix. Lana is a little sunshine and it looks like she always smiles. In her new home, she will surely brighten up the daily lives of her people with her cautious but loving nature. There can already be other dogs living there, as she gets along well with fellow animals and likes to play with them. In her new home, initially not too much should be expected from Lana. She will have to learn what it means to live in a household. So far, she only knows street life. But with her open nature, she will surely show a lot of learning enthusiasm and make quick progress in learning the basics of dog life. To teach dogs what they need to know for a happy dog life, you can also seek support from dog training classes. There, the little dog girl also has the opportunity to play with other dogs. Lana is about 4 years old, which means she has already passed the exhausting pubertal phase. Our little sunshine can hardly wait to bring sunshine into your life and is already packed with her EU pet passport. She travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. Thank you, Theresia M.! You have given Lana her perfect name! Date: 03.07.

Vielen Dank Theresia M.! Du hast Lana ihren passenden Namen geschenkt! Stand: 03.07.2024

About Lana

What life with Lana looks like

Lana is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
