Adopt Lapka

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Lapka lived until recently with eight other cats with an elderly lady who fell seriously ill and was no longer able to care for herself and the cats. Her admission to a care home meant that for the little furballs, it was like being exposed to the elements, as is customary in Spain. But they had an angel who wouldn’t allow that. A neighbor informed us about the sad situation for Lapka and her friends, and we searched for foster placements. Thanks to the help of our family, all the cats were safely placed. Lapka lives peacefully with other cats at a foster home, where she is lovingly cared for. She likes to play and snuggle with her cat friends, regardless of gender, but she prefers to snuggle with us humans and can never get enough cuddles. She is very loving and attentive. Lapka dreams of her own cat kingdom where she gets more attention and can further develop her affectionate nature. She will trust her human companions and enrich them with her presence. Who will fall in love with the cuddly Tabby cat and give her her own cat kingdom? The animal described here lives at a foster home that houses many animals. For these animals, we are searching for a loving and safe home in a new environment. The descriptions are brief because there simply isn’t time to provide detailed descriptions during our daily work of caring for all the animals. If interested, a detailed description can be requested, please send your questions directly via email to the address provided. We will try to answer these as soon as possible. Home sought For Lapka, we are searching for a loving, understanding home. Our cats come—where health and age allow—neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and with an EU Pass. Additionally, they are tested for FELV/FIV. We look forward to your contact. This animal was abandoned.

About Lapka

What life with Lapka looks like

Lapka is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lapka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lapka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lapka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lapka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lapka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lapka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lapka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
