Adopt Lazy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Lazy is the mother of Mara and since they arrived at our shelter, they have always been together. They share a very special bond and support each other at all times. At first, she may appear shy and reserved, especially in new environments or with people she doesn't know, but with a bit of patience, she starts to show her true self. Once she feels more at ease, Lazy plays with other dogs without any problem and gets along well with them. She is a sweet and noble dog, one that still has much to teach us as she gains confidence and security. Lazy arrived at our shelter on May 9, 2025, along with Mara. She seeks a home where she can respect her own pace, be offered calm and understanding, and where she can continue to discover the world at her own pace. She is a wonderful dog who deserves a real chance.

About Lazy

What life with Lazy looks like

Lazy is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Villena in Spain.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lazy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lazy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Villena handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lazy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lazy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Villena will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lazy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lazy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Villena early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lazy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
