Adopt Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁

Unknown · Young · 3 years

The two cat siblings Lea and Leo were found as small kittens outside and unfortunately grew up in the animal shelter. What they lacked, what kittens actually desperately need, is regular, loving contact with people. Therefore, they are still somewhat fearful and need time to build trust. While they are curious and very attentive around known people, cuddling is still not in the cards. Especially Lea had a tough start. She suffered greatly from cat colds, barely ate, and developed liver problems temporarily as a result. Fortunately, that is now under control – she is stable and lively, just a bit more slender. Through the many vet visits in their babyhood, both siblings experienced a lot of stress, which well explains their wariness of people. Despite all this, Lea and Leo are inseparable and give each other security. With a toy mouse, patience – and a bit of chicken breast as a bribe – one can slowly win their hearts. Touching them is currently not possible, but with a patient, quiet home, both will surely make great progress. They are young, curious, and simply need to learn first how wonderful a real home can be – because an animal shelter cannot replace that start. For Lea and Leo, we wish for a quiet home suitable for apartment living with a secure balcony, ideally without small children – teenagers, however, are no problem. What is important is that their new people bring time, patience, and understanding for shy cats and are willing to give them the space they need for their development.

About Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁

What life with Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁 looks like

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Previous health issues with cat flu and liver problems, now stable but requires patient owners due to early trauma and lack of human socialization

Frequently asked

Adopting Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Düsseldorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Düsseldorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Düsseldorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lea & Leo - kleine Löwen brauchen etwas Zeit 🦁 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
