Lea

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 5 months

Ilza Yosifova, a female cat born around May 2026, is available for adoption from a shelter in Bulgaria. She is scheduled to be spayed soon and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Ilza is not known to have any disabilities and is compatible with children and cats, but not with dogs. She requires a home with no single-cat households, only indoor living, and no outdoor access. A balcony or patio is desirable (if available, secure it). Ilza discovered the kitten Lea in the trash, initially thinking she was already dead. However, Lea was still alive, though severely weakened and in a life-threatening condition. Ilza immediately took her to a veterinary clinic, where the kitten received 17 days of intensive care. Even after that, Lea struggled with a persistent infection that required further treatment. However, the little fighter has recovered from all the hardships. Lea is a cheerful kitten full of energy and always up for fun. She particularly enjoys playing with the other cats at Ilza's home and racing around. She gets along well with them and is always in the thick of things when something is happening. But Lea can also be a cuddly little kitten, seeking the company of her humans and enjoying pets very much. With so much fun and cuddling, it will not get boring with Lea. After everything Lea has been through, we wish the little kitten a carefree cat life with lots of love, fun, and cuddling. Her bag is packed, and she is waiting for people who want to give her a permanent place in their hearts. Of course, Lea should continue to have a feline friend by her side. Therefore, she will only move in with an existing feline companion of similar age or bring a suitable playmate from Ilza.

About Lea

What life with Lea looks like

Lea is a kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lea, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lea?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lea on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lea if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lea already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lea isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lea and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
