adoption requirements adoption process Ask for this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Ask for this dog now! Lea is a true beauty – both on the inside and outside. Unlike her siblings, she stands out with her predominantly white fur, complemented by cute brown-black markings on her face and distinctive dark spots on her body. Visually, she is a real stunner – one must see her to fall instantly in love. The young female dog is currently approximately five months old, measures about 40 cm, and tips the scales at around 8 kg. She is expected to reach a medium to large size as she grows. Unlike her more shy sister, Lea is a real bundle of energy. She is exceptionally friendly, full of energy, and always ready to spring into action and play. If you're looking for an active companion, you've found your perfect match. She loves to dart around with other dogs, with whom she gets along wonderfully – only to then contentedly and tiredly drift off to sleep in the arms of her people. Lea currently lives in a foster home and has already experienced life in a family – something she never wants to miss again. She is familiar with wearing a collar and greatly enjoys the security of a warm bed. Given that she likely has both retriever and herding dog genes, we are seeking people who either already have experience with these special qualities or are willing to immerse themselves in learning about them. Lea needs clear, loving leadership as well as meaningful mental stimulation that challenges her sharp and alert mind. Puberty is also approaching – an exciting time when rules are questioned and boundaries tested. Patience, consistency, and a dash of humor are required. An rural home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal so that Lea can fulfill her need for exercise. Lea is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated and brings her EU pet passport with her. After positive Many thanks, Verena, you gave Lea her name, thereby granting her identity. Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Lea

What life with Lea looks like

Lea is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lea, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lea?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lea on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lea if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lea already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lea isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lea and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
