Lee

Male · Young · 2 years

Lee, a self-assured and open cat, came to our shelter as a found cat and is now looking for people who want to give him a loving home. From the very first minute, Lee has shown himself to be a confident and open cat. He approaches people curiously and friendly and quickly gets in touch with them. As a very communicative cat, Lee always has something to tell his humans and enjoys spending time together. Lee is a real cuddly cat. He is also open to children. He probably already knows them from his previous life. He also knows life outside, although it is not clear whether he was not even a house cat before. So far, he has shown himself to be friendly and open to his fellow cats, so a home with another cat is also conceivable. If you are looking for a self-confident, affectionate and uncomplicated cat with a big heart, you will find a great companion in Lee. 03841 - 79 01 79

03841 - 79 01 79

About Lee

What life with Lee looks like

Lee is a large young adult cat waiting at Tierheim Dorf Mecklenburg in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Dorf Mecklenburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Dorf Mecklenburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Dorf Mecklenburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
