Adopt Leeth

Male · Adult · 6 years

Leeth is a wonderful Belgian Shepherd dog, 6 years old. He came to us after being left behind during a move. Leeth unfortunately lived outside all his life in a yard. Despite this, Leeth is a very social and kind boy. He is a real curious fellow, wants to be everywhere and must see everything. When Leeth goes for a walk he still pulls on the leash and every plant must be sniffed. His owner is quite firm on his feet because Leeth is extremely strong. However, we notice that Leeth quickly picks things up and is really ready to learn! Leeth is housebroken. Everything he can find he unfortunately chews up. Therefore, staying home alone will have to be built up further. Here with us he tries not to escape, the fence is 1m80 high. Now Leeth is looking for his golden bed. Leeth is only placed with people who already have experience with Belgian Shepherds. His interaction with other dogs is unknown but a match can be tested during a meeting. Leeth is not placed with children due to a lack of background. Leeth has spent enough time alone in a yard in his life. Now he is looking for masters who want to introduce him with lots of time, patience and love to how life for a dog should really be. Masters where he can be 100% part of the family. Staying home alone must, as mentioned before, be built up. Who can give Leeth the warm home he deserves?

Leeth is zindelijk.

About Leeth

What life with Leeth looks like

Leeth is a adult dog waiting at Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus in Aalst.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leeth, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leeth?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leeth on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leeth if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leeth already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leeth isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Sint-Hubertus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leeth and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
