Lego

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Lego is a smart, Labrador-type dog looking for a patient and understanding home! He was born around 2024 and is of medium size (about 21 kg). He’s been through a lot in his life, which has left a mark on his sensitive psyche. When he came into our care, he was extremely frightened and tried to ward off people by growling and threatening—this was the only defense mechanism he’d ever known. He wouldn’t let anyone approach him. Thanks to patience and dedicated work, Lego is slowly discovering that a human hand can also be associated with kindness. Although he’s still shy and reserved in new situations, he’s now much more open to interaction and is gradually starting to trust others. He’s beginning to rely on humans for support and is making tremendous progress every single day. Lego is fully ready to move to his new home (neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and vaccinated). He needs an understanding, calm, and patient guardian who won’t push him, will give him time to adjust, and will respect his boundaries. Lego needs someone who can earn his trust and show him just how beautiful and safe the canine world can be.

Zaczyna ufać, szukać wsparcia w człowieku i robi ogromne postępy każdego dnia.

About Lego

What life with Lego looks like

Lego is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lego, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lego?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lego on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lego if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lego already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lego isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lego and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
