Leguś

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Legus is a dog who has made tremendous progress! Although he was initially very withdrawn and only allowed to be carried, he now happily leaves his kennel and looks around curiously. His fear is slowly giving way to curiosity, and we see him gaining confidence every day. What do we know about Legus? He enjoys human contact - especially when it's at his level. Then he lies down next to you, likes to be petted and scratched. He maintains eye contact, as if he is "listening" to what is being said to him. He walks more confidently - although everything around him is still new, he no longer resists the leash. He walks, but often circles around the person, as if looking for support in them. He does not like stops - when he stops in one place, he becomes restless. He plays, but on his own terms - he shows a gentle interest in the ball, runs up to it, but does not bring it back yet. Curious about the world - he is interested in other dogs, would like to approach them and sometimes barks, but does not show aggression. He needs exercise - he has a tendency to gain weight, so his future owner will have to take care of his diet and the right amount of activity. For whom is Legus? For someone who has the patience to help him open up to the world further. For someone who will provide him with walks and wise further socialization. For someone who wants to have a friend to cuddle and long conversations - Legus really listens! PL·Show original

About Leguś

What life with Leguś looks like

Leguś is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Frequently asked

Adopting Leguś, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leguś?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leguś on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leguś if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Leguś already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leguś isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leguś and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
